The MS Carmen I, a vessel with a rich history and modern amenities, has taken on a new role in providing support for refugees from Ukraine. This noble mission highlights the versatility and humanitarian potential of such ships. Originally built in 2001 and refurbished in 2017. The MS Carmen I was designed to offer comfort and luxury on the water.

With 75 cabins, including 22 with French balconies, guests can enjoy panoramic views and the gentle breezes of travel.

Ship facilities

The ship’s facilities, from the elegant on-board shop to the Panorama lounge and bar, are crafted for enjoyment and relaxation.

In the hall you will find both the reception and the elegant on-board shop. On the Panorama deck you will find the Panorama lounge with bar. On the same deck you will find the restaurant at the back of the ship. The ship is equipped with a lift to the five individual levels, a spacious sun deck with 360 degree view and Wi-Fi reception throughout the ship.

Now, these same spaces are repurposed to offer solace and support to those in need, demonstrating the adaptability and resilience of both the ship and its crew in times of crisis.

The MS Carmen I current mission is a testament to the broader efforts of aid and support provided to individuals displaced by conflict, standing as a beacon of hope and solidarity.

The ship is docked in Nijmegen next to the MS Traviata also a ship from SijFa Cruises which is docked for support. Both ships are under management of Sijfa Travel Crew and are not available for charters in 2025
